Wanderer’s Way Foundation

WHO WE ARE

Wanderer's Way is a globally focused nonprofit foundation working to heal the origins and consequences of trauma and abuse by promoting the integration of an educated, healthy, and balanced physical, mental, and emotional lifestyle through the responsible and ethical use of globally impactful digital technology.

THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT

Like the outwardly cascading ripple effect a drop of water has on a larger body, the butterfly effect is the notion that small things can have non-linear impacts on a complex system. The power to change the world exists within the delicate motion of a wing. Imagine yourself with wings. Believe it. The power to transform the world is yours. Now, how will you use the power of your wings?

WANDERERS

According to certain lores, Wanderers are compassionate individuals who help humanity achieve its highest potential.

DarknessAndLight2
Trauma is an inner injury. A lasting rupture or split within the self due to difficult or hurtful events. By this definition, trauma is something that happens within someone as a result of the difficult and hurtful events that befall them, it is not the events themselves. Trauma is not what happens to you, but what happens inside you. Think of a car accident where someone sustains a concussion. The accident is what happens, the injury is what lasts. Likewise, trauma is a psychic injury lodged in our nervous system, mind, and body lasting long past the original incident or incidents, and trigger-able at any moment. It is a constellation of hardships composed of the wound itself and the residual burdens that our wound imposes on our bodies and souls. The unresolved emotions they visit upon us. The coping dynamics they dictate. The tragic, or melodramatic, or erratic scripts we unwittingly yet inexorably live out, and not least, the toll these take on our bodies.

Book Recommendations

Every one of the social and psychological causes of depression and anxiety they have discovered has something in common. They are all forms of disconnection. They are all ways in which we have been cut off from something we innately need but seem to have lost along the way.

Something has gone badly wrong with our culture. We've created a culture where really large numbers of the people around us can't bear to be present in their daily lives. They need to medicate themselves to get through their day. [...]

The opposite of addiction isn't sobriety, it's connection. It's all I can offer. It's all that will help him in the end. If you are alone, you cannot escape addiction. If you are loved, you have a chance. For a hundred years we have been singing war songs about addicts. All along, we should have been singing love songs to them.

Status

There is not much to see yet, but work is being done behind the scenes to create Wanderer's Way Foundation. In due time, we hope to offer a variety of trauma, abuse, and grief healing services, programs, and other forms of assistance to the public at no charge.

At Wanderer's Way, we believe that the support, knowledge, and information people need to live better lives should be given freely. We will never charge for access to the information, services, and programs we offer (except travel and lodging to live events). However, donations will always be welcomed and accepted.

There is much to be done before we're ready to begin offering any services or programs. We are taking our time and planning the future carefully. We have every intention to create a strong, stable, and effective organization that will last for generations to come.

Donations to Wanderer's Way are currently not tax deductible, but donations are accepted and greatly appreciated. Donations to Wanderer's Way will be tax deductible once the IRS grants us tax exempt status which we expect to achieve in 2024.

You need your nausea. You need your pain. It is a message, and we must listen to the message. All these depressed and anxious people, all over the world—they are giving us a message. They are telling us something has gone wrong with the way we live. We need to stop trying to muffle or silence or pathologize that pain. Instead, we need to listen to it, and honor it. It is only when we listen to it our pain that we can follow it back to its source—and only there, when we can see its true causes, can we begin to overcome it.

Thank you for taking the time to visit this webpage. My name is Jaden Riley (LinkedIn), and I am the founder of the Wanderer's Way Foundation.  I am many things, but in the context of Wanderer's Way, I am a dual cancer survivor, an abuse survivor, and a recovering binge alcoholic and self-harmer. I was raised by substance abusing emotionally unavailable parents, viciously bullied as child and I have endured and overcome extreme poverty, decades of suicidal ideation, a fatal drunk driving car accident, child rape, thirteen years of binge alcoholism, multiple years of extreme isolation, clinical depression, obesity (reaching over 271 lbs.), anxiety and panic disorders, and three decades of receiving dangerous, inappropriate, and ineffective psychiatric treatment as a result of misdiagnosis.

In 2019 I reached a level of professional success that many in life strive for, and yet, I couldn't have been unhappier. And so, I quit everything I knew, everything I'd worked so hard to achieve, and everything that provided me with what the world told me I needed in life to be happy, stable, and fulfilled. Except, I was none of those things, and so I walked away from a high-status position and a six-figure salary. Four years later, my world still isn't perfect, far from it, but I am happier and healthier than I have ever been. I no longer suffer any of the mental and emotional maladies that used to plague my life, I am no longer overweight, I have been alcohol-free since April 25, 2013, I am more physically healthy and physically fit than I have ever been since grade school, and I have decided what I want to do with the rest of my life—transform the world for the better, for everyone.

Charity, in its true form, is an expression of unconditional love and is deeply rooted in the community, the preservation of human dignity, truth, justice, freedom, and the genuine well-being of others—absent of greed, and above the acquisition of wealth.

Charity is a gesture of kindness and compassion, yet the concept of charity has somehow been distorted as an element of lack which couldn't be further from the truth. Charity is a catalytic act of love and compassion that anyone can do in the way that feels most comfortable to them, and every single act of charity has the potential to expand exponentially over time to completely transform the world in what's known as the butterfly effect.

We all need help in life. It is not a sign of godliness, wokeness, or enlightenment to preach turning a blind eye, or in any way whatsoever, discouraging a person from performing acts of charity or discouraging others from engaging in willful and mutually uplifting acts of service to others.

Quote002
D

Too many of us had poor role models as children. Therefore, we grow up continually gravitating toward unhealthy mentors to help us navigate our life challenges because we don't know the difference between healthy and toxic help. As a result of our upbringing, we lack the necessary skills and experiences to discern what is truly in our best interest properly; therefore, we end up simply accepting whatever help is the most immediately and easily accessible to us. The world needs more healthy and healed role models to emulate.

SOME INSPIRATION

"A heart must be free to fly."

Those who have been silenced, controlled, marginalized, cast away, ignored, minimized, restricted, traumatized, exploited, and abused, I perhaps have the bigger picture of your path in this lifetime, the mountain you must climb to reach that which you seek. I can only speculate, for this is something only you can know.
For each of us, the steps from the base of the mountain to its peak are different, as no two beings are identical, and in that statement is the truth of the reason why the general advice you have sought and acquired from others has not worked for you as you have perhaps hoped and prayed it would.

What you have been through is not unique, but how it has affected, impacted, and influenced you is, and thus, the lessons you are to learn and the steps you must take to reach the personal peaks you so desire and deserve to reach are special and unique to you.

But, again, I can help light the way. Here, I would like to show you the bird's eye view of your journey, for I have traversed enough of my path along my journey to the mountaintop that I seek to perch that I am at least free enough to let my heart soar. Though there are still some ways I feel bound, there is no part of me that is without utter faith and devotion to my own pure knowing that all things beautiful in this world can be achieved.

The complete refusal to live in any state of fantasy, delusion, or illusion is required, along with living your life with eyes wide open, fully accepting of what you feel and witness going on around you, and completely welcoming radical honesty with utter devotion, and the sincerest of best efforts. And yes, faith and a true belief in magic, even those too, are important to tackling this mountain that so many of us have faced our entire lives.

Yes, love is the answer, and the unfortunate truth of the lives many of us have lived is that we have not been shown or received true and healthy love, and thus, we cannot recognize it. We do not know how to accept it, and as loving as we would like to believe we are, we cannot properly give true healthy love to ourselves and others in return without some help, but the right kind of help. Few things of such a beautiful nature of genuine, healthy love need ever become forever a lost cause or impossible dream.

Mulan's story is my story. I believe her story is yours as well. Only you can know.

There are some things others can help you with, and there are some things you must find, cultivate, and remain dedicated to on your own. Among these is the discernment to recognize and move toward who and what is good, healthy, and right for you, and then you must have the courage to take action to reorient your life to move fearlessly in that direction.

Do you feel your heart can fly free? When you look in the mirror, are you confident that the person looking back at you is not only who you truly are but also the same person you fearlessly show up in the world to others as being?

PHYSICAL HEALTH SUGGESTION - Create your at-home workout regimes with YouTube videos:

Create your custom workout regimes custom-tailored to your level of physical health and focused on the parts of the body you wish to focus on by creating a blank YouTube playlist which you then populate it with eight to sixteen of the short individual 5-8 minutes workout videos from YouTube Channels like 5-Minute-Workouts, WORKOUT, and Body Now.

SIDE NOTE - There is ample science to support the following statement:

Adopting a lifestyle dedicated to a healthy ketogenic diet, obtaining optimal liver health, and practicing various forms of intermittent fasting has proven to substantially improve or eradicate disorders, diseases, and symptoms related to the following physical, mental, and emotional ailments: diabetes, asthma, insulin resistance, blood pressure, depression, anxiety, cholesterol levels, inflammation, arthritis, autoimmune disorders like multiple sclerosis, gut health, food allergies, age-related neuro-degeneration like Alzheimer's and dementia, inflammatory bowel, many cancers, fast and fuller recovery from a stroke, sleep disorders like sleep apnea and insomnia, and many more.
